After an incredible stretch in which Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson were able to win four NBA titles playing alongside one another on the Golden State Warriors, this summer has marked the end of an era in the Bay Area, with the “Splash Brothers” no longer paired as a dynamic duo in the backcourt.

Following what seemed to be a rough contract negotiation with the Warriors, Thompson decided that it was time to leave and join a team closer to winning a title that also was willing to pay him what he was worth at this point in his NBA career.

Ultimately, that team turned out to be the reigning Western Conference champion Dallas Mavericks, with the brass finding another star to play with superstars Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.

With Thompson set to play in Dallas for the foreseeable future, Curry is left with Draymond Green and a vacant spot where his former Splash Brother once was.

But Curry’s Team USA teammate LeBron James might have found the right man to play with the sharpshooter in Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat, who hit three 3-pointers in a win over Serbia, via NBA Central.

“The new Splash Brother!” James yelled.

With Kevin Durant on the mend as he tries to battle through a calf strain, Curry hasn’t had another player on the U.S. team who can really fill it up from deep, with the possible exception of Devin Booker.

Adebayo, however, has played exceptionally well for the Americans thus far, as he and Anthony Davis have become a dominant frontcourt duo for Team USA as it prepares for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.
