LeBron James, Kevin Durant Finally Set To End A Shocking Streak

LeBron James and Kevin Durant are not only two of the best players of their generation but also two of the greatest players in NBA history.

That’s why it’s been so disappointing to see that they haven’t faced off against each other in the regular season in years.

Today’s game between the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers will mark their first official game in the last five years (via SportsCenter).

Notably, the craziest part about this is that they haven’t met mostly because of Durant’s injuries, and he’s younger than LeBron.

Unfortunately, both teams won’t be at full strength for tonight’s matchup either.

The Suns have already ruled out star guards Devin Booker (foot) and Bradley Beal (back) for their clash vs. the Lakers.

The Suns are looking to make a statement this season, which is why they shouldn’t take any chances regarding the health of their star players.

Booker and Beal could most likely play through injury, but it doesn’t make any sort of sense to risk them this early in the campaign.

Moreover, James won’t be on the court for as long as he usually is, which is another downside of this matchup.

Lakers coach Darvin Ham just confirmed that James will be placed under a strict minutes restriction, stating he’s going to be on the court for 28-30 minutes.

This means the end of an era is almost upon us, and while it’s a shame to see that we didn’t get to see them for five years, we’ll at least get another chance to appreciate their greatness.
