LeBron James has been playing NBA basketball for more than 20 years now and has made it to the postseason dozens of times.
That means that he has made a lot of shots during his career and is the all-time point leader in league history.
But with that great honor comes an unfortunate statistic too.
According to Extra Muse, James holds the record for the most shots missed in a career, including both field goal and free throw attempts.
James has 17,490 missed shots, which sits ahead of Wilt Chamberlain with 16,621, Kobe Bryant with 16,114, and Karl Malone with 16,083.
James has made the most shots but he has also missed the most too.

It’s not that surprising to see that James has missed the most shots throughout his career, considering he has scored more than anyone else.
In fact, this distinction is just further proof of how impactful and important he has been throughout his 21-year career.
James has only been able to miss so many times because he has been given the ball and led multiple teams.
He has been the leader of every squad he has played for.
Even now James is the most important player for the Los Angeles Lakers as he approaches 40 years old.
Since the start of his career, teams have trusted James with the ball.
It’ll likely be a very long time before any NBA star can surpass James’ record for all-time points leader.
He is still playing and posting more than 25 points per game.
But it’ll also likely be a very long time before someone surpasses James with this more embarrassing statistic.
