After flirting with retirement during the NBA offseason, superstar forward LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers has come into the 2023-24 NBA season on a mission to hold off Father Time for at least another year.

The four-time NBA champion is having another stellar season for the Lakers, as he resembles a young player on the rise rather than an aging superstar trying to get by on fumes.

Even though it has been somewhat of an up-and-down season thus far for the Lakers, with the majority of their players dealing with injury issues to start the 2023-24 campaign, James has remained consistent while being able to lead his team to being one win away from winning the first-ever In-Season Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada.

On Thursday night, James put on a show once again as he led the Lakers to victory over the New Orleans Pelicans in the semifinals of the In-Season Tournament.

Not only did the Lakers crush the Pelicans by 44 points at T-Mobile Arena on Thursday night, but James made history by becoming the first player to ever record 30+ points, 5+ assists, and 5+ rebounds in under 23 minutes, according to the Lakers’ Twitter account.

Even though James will turn 39 years old later this month, the future Hall of Famer is still going strong and could be well on his way to adding the NBA Cup to his massive trophy case.

On Saturday, the Lakers will go head-to-head against Tyrese Haliburton and the upstart Indiana Pacers in the In-Season Tournament Championship Game in Las Vegas with the first-ever NBA Cup on the line.
