LeBron James has been one of the faces of the NBA since he was originally drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He has continued to assert his dominance on the game of basketball, proving he was worth the hype surrounding him.
While James has dominated the hardwood, he has also been given accolades for his leadership abilities.
In a recent interview with Dave McMenamin via Clutch Points, James did not describe himself as the leader of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Instead, James gave that title to Anthony Davis, saying, “He is the face of the franchise.”
LeBron James says Anthony Davis is the face of the Lakers
“He is the face [of the franchise]… You look at all these [retired] numbers that surround this facility, all the greats that have come here and AD is one of them.”

Despite James’ career track record and his standing as the league’s leading scorer, he doesn’t see himself as the Lakers’ leader.
Davis is 30 years old, eight years younger than James.
Assuming he continues playing for the foreseeable future, Davis has been a staple of this roster for the last four seasons.
He and James are widely viewed as one of the best 1-2 punches in the NBA when healthy, a trend they’d like to continue this year.
Davis continues to receive praise for his leadership abilities, and James’ comments are a direct reflection of that.
He helped bring this team another NBA title, something he’ll be remembered for in franchise history.
Even though Davis and James have both made respective impacts on the Lakers, they’re not done yet.
The Lakers have added significant pieces to this roster throughout the offseason while retaining several of their existing players.
Can the dynamic duo of James and Davis help the Lakers add another banner to their rafters?
