These days, every professional athlete in the NBA and NFL seems to have a podcast of their own, with some much better than others, which inspired Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward LeBron James to try his luck with the “Mind the Game” podcast he hosts with former NBA player JJ Redick.

James supposedly became increasingly frustrated with all the podcasts he was hearing that all basically said the same things by leaning on all-time lists and debate topics about things going on in the NBA on a weekly basis.

As a result, James wanted to do something different with his podcast by breaking down parts of the game with Redick and bringing a different perspective on what he sees on the basketball floor.

So far, James’ podcast has been very successful, as it just reached an impressive milestone in a short amount of time, with it already surpassing 100,000 subscribers on YouTube, which is something that takes most podcasters years and years to accomplish.

James took to Twitter to celebrate the accomplishment.

With James and Redick getting off to a hot start, it seems like the sky is the limit for the new dynamic podcast duo, as they could compete for being one of the best sports podcasts out there.

As for James’ focus moving forward, he’s trying to help the Lakers secure the best possible position in the Play-In Tournament in order to be one win away from reaching the first round of the NBA playoffs to take on one of the best teams in the Western Conference in a seven-game series.
