The Los Angeles Lakers have struggled mightily against their neighborhood rival.

Prior to last night’s overtime win, they had dropped 11 straight games against the Los Angeles Clippers.

With that kind of bragging rights, LeBron James had no choice but to tip his hat to his rivals, talking about how it’s always great to play against the best players in the league and stating that Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and even Russell Westbrook are some of the best players ever (via Lakers Nation).

LeBron on facing the Clippers:

“It’s always great to compete against the best and Kawhi, PG and Russ are three of the best this game has ever seen.”

The Clippers have had the Lakers’ number as of late.

They were severely undermanned in Wednesday’s night loss, as most of their role players were dealt in the James Harden trade.

There’s some skepticism about how Harden could make a positive impact on the team, and understandably so.

But if they’re all able to buy in, share the ball, and do what’s best for the team, this Clippers team could be one of the best in the league, and we’re not talking just about this season but of all time.

It’s not a secret that the Lakers have historically dominated the Clippers, and nine out of ten hoops fans in Los Angeles root for the Purple and Gold.

But Lawrence Frank and Steve Ballmer have made sure to take great steps to change that, and while they haven’t been able to win an NBA championship yet, this might be the year they finally manage to get over the hump and reach the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.
