After 16 seasons playing in the NBA, Rajon Rondo retired earlier this week, saying goodbye to a very successful career.
On Tuesday night, one of his former teammates, LeBron James, spoke about Rondo and their time together several seasons ago.
Firstly, James called Rondo “one of the best players I ever played with.”
He then added, “‘Do always talked about if he ever teamed up with me, he knew we could win a championship. And we did that.”

After getting his start with the Boston Celtics and winning a championship with them, Rondo moved around the league, playing for several teams like the Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings, and Chicago Bulls.
He eventually made his way to the Lakers in the 2018-19 season.
During his second season with LA, the team won a championship in the Orlando bubble.
Rondo posted 8.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6.6 assists during that playoff run, giving the world a solid look at what fans called “Playoff Rondo.”
He was a huge part of the team’s success that year and many were disappointed when he left the team after.
Although he would return to the Lakers in his final season, he wasn’t there for long.
James has played with many stars during his more than two decades in the NBA so to call Rondo one of the best he’s ever known is huge praise.
The title he won with the Lakers is one of the most important parts of James’ career and Rondo was a gigantic part of it.
They didn’t play together for a long time but it’s clear that Rondo had a significant impact on the Lakers and its biggest star.
