The Los Angeles Lakers managed to put together an epic comeback and even held on after a late rally to take down the Minnesota Timberwolves.
That win in the Play-in Tournament game got them the seventh spot in the Western Conference, but their reward wasn’t exactly good.
Now, they’ll need to go toe-to-toe with the up-and-coming Memphis Grizzlies, one of the most consistent teams throughout the season, and a young and hungry squad that’s craving to dethrone the most renowned names in the league.
But more than that, the win helped LeBron James set another incredible milestone in his impeccable NBA career: He’s now set to face his 23rd different rival in the NBA playoffs.

James spent the majority of his career in the Eastern Conference and was used to dominating those foes en route to eight straight NBA Finals, so it’s only natural to see that he squared off against most Eastern franchises.
He’s been with the Los Angeles Lakers for four years now, and while he’s only gone deep into the playoffs in one season, he’s also had his fair share of Western Conference rivals already.
The Lakers are expected to be the biggest dark horse to come out of the West this season, provided they can beat the Grizzlies.
And while things won’t be easy at all, especially on the road, any team with a healthy LeBron James will always have a chance to win, regardless of the rival, the court, or the stage.
