We’re witnessing the dawn of a new era in the NBA.
The old guard might be walking it’s final steps in the league, with the youngsters being ready to take over.
Stephen Curry is a little younger than LeBron James and will most likely stick around for longer, but the fiercest rivalry in recent NBA history is coming to an end.
As a matter of fact, they’ve now reached the point where everybody’s nostalgic about watching them play together instead of against each other.
The fact that they’ve teamed up for Team USA has turned plenty of heads and even got a lot of people tuning in to watch their scrimmage vs. Canada.
There, they gave us all a glimpse of what their pairing could look like on an NBA floor, with Curry finding James for an electrifying dunk that got everybody on their feet (via NBA Central).

Notably, the Golden State Warriors reportedly tried to trade for LeBron James last season.
The four-time NBA champion, however, respectfully declined.
It would’ve been kind of weird to watch them teaming up, particularly at this point in their careers, and it would’ve definitely gotten some mixed reviews.
James didn’t want to relocate, and teaming up with the same guys who beat him three times in the NBA Finals could’ve been a stain on his legacy.
Fortunately, the fans will at least get to watch them wreak havoc together in the Olympics.
