The Los Angeles Lakers may not be considered in the inner circle of contenders heading into the 2024-25 NBA season, but they can at least boast they have one of the best players in the league in LeBron James.

James has been the textbook definition of consistency throughout his career as he somehow has been able to defy Father Time and play at an elite level no matter how old he gets.

Heading into the 2024-25 season, James will turn 40 years old yet still looks like he has enough gas left in the tank for one more title run.

James showed out in the 2024 Olympics for Team USA, leading the program to its fifth consecutive gold medal after their win against France.

It was a tightly contested game throughout, and for a moment it looked like USA Basketball might lose before James and the rest of the roster secured the victory.

James was named the 2024 Olympics MVP, but the award sparked some debate among fans because of Stephen Curry’s performances in the medal rounds.

Curry really bailed Lebron out like Ray Allen and he still got robbed of MVP… crazy

The Steph vs LeBron stuff is so funny

Steph FINALLY showed out in a big game and his whole history is erased, while LeBron has to somehow still prove time and time again

You guys answered your own question

Both are amazing btw no hate

If you were to take Lebron off Team USA they still win the gold medal, not the case if you take Curry off the team. That makes Curry The MVP

How is Steph Curry not the MVP of the #paris2024 Olympic Men’s Basketball Tournament? LeBron played well but Steph was other worldly and saved the USA twice in the medal round.

LeBron getting Olympic MVP at age 40 is insane man. We are witnessing a 1 of 1 pic.twitter.com/s2C5giQ8lV

There is a credible case for Curry given that he saved Team USA in the semifinals against Serbia before coming up clutch against France.

Curry hit massive 3-pointers in crunch time to bail out the Americans and was likely in consideration for Olympics MVP before James won it.

James may not have had the same kind of offensive blow-up games that Curry did, but he was instrumental from pool play onwards in helping Team USA win games.

Regardless, both legends helped bring back the gold and that’s all that matters for the program.
