Although the Minnesota Timberwolves entered this year’s NBA playoffs with the third seed in the Western Conference, there weren’t a ton of people who felt they had a real shot at reaching the NBA Finals.
That changed when they won the first two games of their Western Conference semifinal series against the defending world champion Denver Nuggets on the road.
Suddenly, there was a feeling Minnesota was poised to win it all — but now, that feeling has calmed down after the Nuggets won Game 3 and Game 4 to tie the series at 2-2.
LeSean McCoy said on FS1’s “Speak” that he is “shocked” Denver has been able to make this a brand-new series.

Denver looked completely flustered in the first two games of this series, as they were held under 100 points in both contests and could barely inhale a sliver of oxygen against Minnesota’s suffocating defense.
Minnesota ranked first in defensive rating in the regular season, and coupled with the emergence of guard Anthony Edwards as a true superstar, it made them look like a rising powerhouse.
But the Nuggets are the reigning champs for a reason, and they showed the nation why in Game 3 and Game 4.
They scored 117 and 115 points in those two contests, which is the type of point production people are used to seeing from them, and they also shot well above 50 percent in both contests.
In particular, Aaron Gordon came alive with 27 points in Game 4, while league MVP Nikola Jokic is starting to look like himself again.
It is now a best two out of three series with Denver regaining the home-court advantage, and one has to think that now the Timberwolves are at least somewhat up against it.
