The Indianapolis Colts have been a major talking point in the NFL world lately.

After a meeting with Jim Irsay, Jonathan Taylor requested a trade, which seems unlikely to happen given Irsay’s latest comments.

It appears that the team would like to keep Taylor around for the long term, but plans to extend him haven’t been announced.

When asked about the current situation in a segment of ‘Speak’ on FS1, LeSean McCoy had a simple solution.

“Pay that man out!” McCoy said.

What should the Colts do with Jonathan Taylor?

McCoy believes that Taylor is “the best player on the team” and should be paid accordingly.

In his first three NFL seasons, Taylor has established himself as one of the league’s best backs.

He led the league in rushing during the 2021 campaign and was on track for similar numbers in 2022 if he didn’t get injured.

With this in mind, however, the Colts haven’t shown any urgency to pay Taylor, especially given the current state of the position.

Teams across the league continue to devalue the position, and the Colts are no different.

However, as the FS1 crew points out, Taylor is the 18th-highest paid running back in the league heading into 2023.

McCoy believes Taylor is worth significantly more than that, given the elite talent he’s demonstrated when on the field.

How will this situation unfold?

Many analysts have suggested that the Colts should deal Taylor in the offseason and try to get maximum value for him.

However, it doesn’t appear they are willing to do that, which could lead to more friction between the two parties.
