With a few weeks left before the official start of the 2024 NFL season, which will get underway on September 5 with the Baltimore Ravens taking on the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, every team around the league is trying to find the right pieces to the puzzle when putting together their rosters.
That said, every team will be making a lot of moves over the course of the next few weeks in order to get close to finalizing their rosters, which includes one of the most talented teams in the league that is coming off its best season in franchise history.
Last year, the Detroit Lions were able to defy the odds and exceed expectations, with veteran quarterback Jared Goff under center and popular head coach Dan Campbell being the leader on the sideline for the franchise.
With the Lions reaching the NFC Championship Game and falling just short of beating the San Francisco 49ers, Detroit hopes to compete for a title and will need the entire team to be firing on all cylinders on both sides of the football, which has led to the following roster moves, according to the team’s Twitter account.

– Waived Injured WR Antoine Green
– Released OL Ike Boettger
– Signed QB Jake Fromm and LB Ty Summers

The one notable name on this list of roster moves is quarterback Jake Fromm, a notable name coming into the league with the Buffalo Bills in 2020 but has since bounced around the NFL, having played for three teams before landing in Detroit.
At this point in the process, Fromm and linebacker Ty Summers will simply be hoping to make the final roster, which will be no easy task on a legitimate title contender in the NFC.
