The Detroit Lions avoided a major crisis.
There were major concerns regarding Jahmyr Gibbs, who suffered a hamstring injury in practice that seemed quite serious at first.
Fortunately for the fans, the players, and the organization as a whole, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
According to a report by Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, the talented running back should be just fine and ready to start the season.
Good news on #Lions Pro Bowl RB Jahmyr Gibbs. Sources say the hamstring injury he suffered is not considered significant, but the team will be very cautious with rest and rehab to make sure he’s 100% healthy. My understanding is he should be ready for Week 1 vs the Rams. pic.twitter.com/BCKl657PsJ

The Lions will obviously take things very slowly and carefully with their prized youngster, so it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see him being shut down for the remainder of the preseason and training camp.
This report is similar to what HC Dan Campbell said in his latest radio appearance.
The young coach snubbed all concerns regarding Gibbs’ status, and while he didn’t provide any details or anything, he did claim that his team would be just fine.
The Lions are one of the strongest players in the NFC picture right now, and Gibbs will be a crucial part of their offense, just like he showed late in the 2023 season.
His versatility and ability to dominate out of the backfield or as a pass-catcher will come in very handily for Jared Goff and the Lions, a team looking to prove that last season’s success wasn’t a fluke and that they’re a force to be reckoned with.
And with hamstring injuries being tricky and tending to linger, the Lions are doing the right thing by keeping him on the shelf.
