The start of the regular NFL season is just around the corner, and as such, injuries will be a major concern for all teams.
Notably, that has been the case lately with the Detroit Lions.
Dan Campbell’s team has suffered a string of injuries at the cornerback position.
Ennis Rakestraw, Terrion Arnold, Carlton Davis, and Amik Robertson have all dealt with some ailments over the past couple of weeks, forcing the team’s hand to dig deep into the cornerback market to find more depth.
With that in mind, they signed Rachad Wildgoose.

Wildgoose will enter his fourth season in the league.
He entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick by the Buffalo Bills.
Thus far, he’s made 20 appearances, including 15 with the Washington Commanders in 2022.
Wildgoose didn’t make a single appearance last season, but he also played five games for the New York Jets back in 2021.
The Lions have made several transactions to revamp their cornerback room lately, adding Javelin Guidry and Essang Bassey for depth as well.
Wildgoose has also served on special teams, logging 119 special team snaps over his 20 career appearances thus far.
He’s coming off a nice stint with the Birmingham Stallions of the UFL, so he’s also in great shape.
The Lions could get Rakestraw back soon, as he’s back in practice.
Davis and Robertson, on the other hand, remain limited, while Arnold is still out but expected to be back at some point before the start of the season.
If that’s not the case, perhaps they could keep Wildgoose around.
