Tony Snell failed to establish himself as a legitimate rotational piece in the NBA.

His career got off to a somewhat promising start with the Chicago Bulls, subbing in for an injured Jimmy Butler and living up to the task, but it all went downhill ever since.

Now, he’s been away from the game for two years, but he’s not giving up on that.

According to a report by the Albuquerque Journal, Snell is looking to make a comeback to the league (Via NBA Central).

Tony Snell is still looking to return to the NBA

“I didn’t make it this far to make it (just) this far. I’m really trying to get that 10th year to take care of my family for life.”

That way, he would get a 10th year of service, so the league would cover healthcare for his family, as he has an autistic son.

Fans urged multiple teams to give Snell a roster spot for him to get those health benefits.

Still, Snell has made over $50 million in his career, so one would think that he should be set for life.

Whatever the case, the 32-year-old claims to be ready and in great shape.

It seems highly unlikely that any team will give him another chance at that age.

But who knows? Perhaps he’ll be the ultimate late bloomer and be able to get back in the league.
