Making the NBA Hall of Fame is a storied achievement.

The Hall of Fame in any sport is a coveted place, an indication that a player was one of the best in their era.

Lou Williams is officially retired and is well-known for his achievements as a sixth man for many organizations.

In a recent conversation, Myles Turner indicated that Williams should be in the hall for his achievements.

Williams responded in a tweet, saying, “I hope my brother gets in first!” an indication of what he thinks of Turner’s career.

We both got 3. I hope my big brother gets in first!! He sets the stage for me and everybody else coming behind us. Much love homies https://t.co/cwMlMugRcu

Whether Williams makes it into the Hall of Fame remains to be seen.

While he was a valuable role player throughout his career, many believe he didn’t have the level of dominance that might warrant a nomination.

When looking at the 2023 NBA Hall of Fame class, it featured the likes of Dwayne Wade, Tony Parker, and Dirk Nowitzki.

All three of these players were considered stars during their eras, something Williams wasn’t necessarily known as.

Podcasts have allowed current and former players to speak their minds freely, opening themselves up to criticism and debate.

Fans have never been closer to their favorite athletes, which can be both a good and bad thing.

While it can afford them a closeness that hasn’t been felt in prior generations, it can also be a point of tension.

Many fans have responded negatively to Williams’ tweet, with the majority believing that he didn’t do enough to deserve Hall of Fame consideration in the future.
