The Pittsburgh Steelers will have the benefit of being able to fly under the radar during the 2023 NFL season, with so many talented teams in the AFC North and the conference, for that matter.
This is not a familiar position for the Steelers, with Pittsburgh being a perennial powerhouse in the AFC, but in the post-Ben Roethlisberger era, the team has yet to prove its worth and whether it can compete with the best of the best in the NFL right now.
However, even though the Steelers are arguably in a rebuilding process at the moment, it may not take that long for this team to become relevant once again, as quarterback Kenny Pickett may very well be the real deal.
The hardest part of a rebuilding process is finding a franchise quarterback, and the Steelers may have already found one in Pickett, as he continues to receive high praise heading into his second NFL season.
ESPN analyst and Pitt alum Louis Riddick recently chimed in on what he sees in Pickett via Corey Crisan of DK Pittsburgh Sports.
Before the #Pitt kickoff luncheon began, I asked Louis Riddick about his expectations for #Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett in Year 2 in the NFL.

Clearly, Riddick is very high on Pickett’s potential to be a great quarterback in the NFL, and he seems to think that the former University of Pittsburgh star will prove a lot of doubters wrong during the 2023 season.
As Riddick points out, Pickett has the weapons around him to be successful right away, with wideouts George Pickens and Diontae Johnson, running back Najee Harris, and tight end Pat Freiermuth.
Riddick didn’t even mention Allen Robinson II, who was another solid addition to the team during the offseason.
It might be a big year for Pickett and the Steelers if all goes according to plan in Pittsburgh.
