Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic put on a show during the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Doncic led all scorers with a whopping 27.0 points per game, also averaging 7.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough for Slovenia to get the job done, as they couldn’t get past Canada in the quarter-finals despite Luka’s heroics.

To make his numbers even more impressive, it seems like Doncic still hasn’t fully healed from the leg injury he suffered last season around the All-Star break.

The former Real Madrid star told Grant Afseth that he’s not okay, but he didn’t make up any excuses and stated that he still needs to get ready for the upcoming NBA season (via NBA Retweet).

Luka Doncic is still dealing with the same leg injury he suffered around the all-star break:

“I do not know what to say, It’s not okay. At the same time, I have to prepare for one more game, and then for a whole season in the NBA.”

This could be a lingering issue for Jason Kidd’s team, especially considering that Doncic barely had any time to rest as he prepared for the World Cup.

He’s slimmer than ever and looks to be in the best shape of his career, and he didn’t look limited at all throughout the course of the tournament.

But with the NBA season just around the corner and not much time to heal, the Mavs might have to be careful with his minutes and load early in the campaign.

Fortunately for them, they managed to ink Kyrie Irving to a long-term deal, and he’s more than capable of holding the fort in case Doncic has to miss time.

The Mavs had a very good offseason and will look to be a dark horse out of the West, and they need Doncic at his best to pull that off.
