The Dallas Mavericks are down but not out.
Jason Kidd’s team has been very good throughout the course of the playoffs, and they’ve proven that they can bounce back.
So, as tough as it might be, one cannot sleep on them, not even after falling to a 0-2 hole.
That’s what happens when you have a generational talent leading the way for a team.
Luka Doncic is one of the most special players we’ve ever seen, and he has an opportunity to do something that hasn’t been done in over two decades.
Recently, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett wondered who the last player who led the league in scoring and won the NBA championship that same season, with the answer being Shaquille O’Neal (via All The Smoke Productions).
Luka still has a chance to accomplish a feat that hasn’t been done in over 20 years.

Doncic won the scoring title this season and, although down in the NBA Finals, could still make history.
The Slovenian star has put up his usual scoring numbers through the first two games of the series, but the rest of the supporting cast — and particularly Kyrie Irving — have been very underwhelming.
Of course, we have to give credit where it’s due, and the Boston Celtics’ defense has been nothing short of spectacular.
They have struggled offensively, but the way they’ve defended Kyrie and swarmed the perimeter to keep the Mavs’ shooters out of rhythm and sync has been stellar.
Still, the bigger the challenge, the better Doncic performs, so it’ll be interesting to see whether he can single-handedly lead his team back in the series.
