On Friday night, the Dallas Mavericks will try to avoid elimination in the NBA Finals as they head into Game 4 on their home floor of the American Airlines Center against the Boston Celtics.

One player who stands to receive a lot of criticism if the Mavericks lose this best-of-seven series, at least a lot more than he’s already getting, especially after his Game 3 debacle, is superstar Luka Doncic.

Although Doncic had been the talk of the NBA heading into the Finals, with a lot of people starting to dub him the best player in the league over Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic, he has not been able to lead the Mavericks to even one win against the Celtics thus far.

With the Mavericks facing a 3-0 deficit heading into Game 4, it seems like a foregone conclusion that the Mavericks will end the season empty-handed, which doesn’t bode well for Doncic heading into the offseason.

However, Doncic does have one thing going for him moving forward, as he is one of only two players in league history, LeBron James is the other, to record 500 or more points, 150 rebounds, 150 assists, and 35 or more steals in a single NBA playoffs, according to StatMuse.

150+ AST
35+ STL

That is an impressive feat, to say the least, especially considering that arguably the greatest player of all time, who played in six NBA Finals, Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls, did not make the list.

However, Doncic would surely wipe this accomplishment off his resume to lift the Larry O’Brien Trophy, which might be out of his reach this year unless the Mavericks can pull off a historic comeback in the Finals.
