Luka Doncic Is Returning To A Special Place During The NBA Preseason

It’s crazy to think that several NBA scouts actually had doubts about Luka Doncic’s potential.

In hindsight, he should’ve been the consensus and undisputed No. 1 pick in his draft class, but some claimed he wasn’t fast, athletic, or even good enough to be a legit star in the NBA.

It’s safe to say those scouts never actually watched him playing for Spanish giant Real Madrid.

Fortunately for them, they’ll now get the chance to watch him play his former team, at least, as the Dallas Mavericks will play Los Blancos in their preseason tour before the upcoming campaign.

The 24-year-old out of Slovenia is an icon of the institution still.

He helped his team win a Euroleague trophy, being named MVP for the tournament — and becoming the youngest player to ever get that distinction.

He was also the youngest player to make his debut for the senior team (16), so it’s no wonder why he handled himself like a veteran once he made it to the league.

He was no ordinary rookie, and understandably so, as he had played with and against professionals for quite a while.

Doncic is one of the new faces of the league, a perennial MVP candidate, and one of the most unique players we’ve ever seen.

It’ll be very nice for him to go back to the place he called home for so many years and get a standing ovation from the fans that believed in him when so many doubted him.
