Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks went to sleep very happy on Christmas night.

That’s because he received the best present of all: a big win over the Phoenix Suns.

The Mavericks beat the Suns 128-114 and Doncic was a massive part of that success.

He scored an eye-popping 50 points, 6 rebounds, and 15 assists.

But according to Opta Stats, via The Athletic, no player in NBA history has created a stat line during the entire season that featured 50+ points, 15+ assists, 8+ three-pointers, 3 blocks and 3 steals, 12 free throws without a miss, all while going 60/50/100% from the floor on field goals, three-pointers, and free throws.

Doncic did that all on Monday night alone.

No player in NBA history has registered game stat lines during an 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣 of:

50+ PTS
15+ AST
8+ 3PM
3+ BLK & 3+ STL
60/50/100 shooting splits (FG/3PT/FT)
12+ FTs without a miss

Doncic also scored his 10,000th point on Monday night, meaning he is officially part of NBA history and on his way to setting more records.

On a day featuring many great performances across the league, Doncic’s may have been the best one.

But that’s not surprising because he’s been doing incredibly well all season long.

In 2023-24, Doncic has averaged 33.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 9.4 assists on a strong 48.9% from the field.

His Mavericks are the fifth-best team in the West with an 18-12 record.

For years now, people have wondered if Doncic would claim an MVP trophy and there is again speculation that he could do it this year.

He will have stiff competition, of course, with the likes of Joel Embiid, Nikola Jokic, and others having stellar seasons as well.

What’s more important to Doncic is that his team is able to perform at a strong level, especially during the playoffs.

In order for that to happen, he will need to continue performing as he did on Monday night, which is no small feat.
