The FIBA World Cup is well underway, an opportunity for NBA fans to see some of their favorite players in action.
This tournament has provided several highlight-reel plays as countries fight to bring their team the gold.
A recent matchup between Canada and Slovenia was a highly contested battle that resulted in a Canadian victory.
Luka Doncic was ejected from the game, a big reason for Slovenia’s downfall.
In a postgame interview shared via ClutchPoints, Doncic quickly called out Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for putting together a great performance.
“They have one of the best players in the world, so it was really tough to guard him,” Doncic said of Gilgeous-Alexander.
“Congratulations to Canada. They played great… They have one of the best players in the world, so it was really tough to guard him.”

Before Doncic’s ejection, he was putting together a massive performance.
He totaled 26 points, four rebounds and five assists.
However, by getting thrown out of this game, Doncic’s stat line did not matter, as he could not close out the game.
Gilgeous-Alexander put together one of the best games of the tournament thus far.
He had 31 points, 10 assists, and four rebounds, which ended up being the difference in the game.
Team Canada moves on, slated to face off against Serbia in the semi-finals.
Gilgeous-Alexander and the Canadian team could find themselves in a gold medal match against the United States, assuming both teams win their semi-final matchups.
Team USA takes on Germany in what should be a tough test for the Americans.
