The Detroit Pistons are adamant about moving forward after the dreadful season they just had and have already committed some changes to make that happen.
They have a new head coach, JB Bickerstaff, and he is creating the staff he needs.
According to Shams Charania, the Pistons are hiring Luke Walton as the lead assistant to Bickerstaff.
For the last two seasons, Walton has been an assistant for Bickerstaff with the Cleveland Cavaliers and previously was the head coach for the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings.

Walton has been involved in the NBA for years.
Of course, he was raised in the league because his father was the late, great Bill Walton.
After college, Walton was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers and played there for years before spending time with the Cavaliers and retiring in 2012-13.
Following that, he made his way into coaching and was hired by the Golden State Warriors as an assistant coach.
His time there was very successful and he led the Warriors to a 39-4 record during Steve Kerr’s absence in 2015-16.
His years as a head coach weren’t as successful but he was given some tough jobs with struggling teams.
Walton is clearly a talented coach, he just needs to be working with the right staff.
As an assistant under Bickerstaff, Walton will try to get this Pistons team back in playoff contention.
There are some great pieces on the roster but the team is far from good and will need a lot of work.
