New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones has been a subject of debate since he entered the league.
The Florida native has earned the respect of his teammates and staff members with his impressive work ethic, but some of his rivals believe he’s a dirty player and actually kind of disrespectful.
Jones has been on the wrong end of a couple of questionable plays in the league.
Because of that, veteran defender Calis Campbell called him out for some of the trash-talking he did when the Pats faced his Baltimore Ravens:
“Philip Rivers was a good trash-talker, but he was never disrespectful,” Campbell said. “Mac Jones, actually, was kind of disrespectful. I’m like, ‘Hold on, man.’ Just trash talk to the highest level.”
Still, Jones is completely unfazed and unbothered by those comments and even admitted that he actually grew up being a Campbell fan (via The Score).

Trash-talking is a part of sports, and it should all be good as long as you don’t cross any line or are able to back it up.
Perhaps some veterans think that young players should earn their stripes before being able to talk trash, while other younger players believe that they’re good enough from the jump to do so.
Campbell and Jones have some history together, though.
The former Ravens star hit him, which led to a tweaked ankle that cost him a three-game absence.
Now, barring a trade or a shocking playoff berth, they won’t get to see each other next season, as the 36-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons.
But if that happens, then the Alabama product better look out, as you know things are personal now.
