Over the past few years, the Orlando Magic have built a roster filled with promising young talent, from Franz Wagner, Cole Anthony, Anthony Black and Jonathan Issac to Jalen Suggs, Wendell Carter Jr. and Paolo Banchero.
Although the team struggled over the prior few seasons, the Magic were finally able to put it together this past season, with Orlando winning 47 games and earning the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference ahead of the Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat.
One of the main reasons for the Magic’s success during the 2023-24 campaign was the emergence of former No. 1 overall pick Banchero, now considered one of the best young players in the game and the new face of the franchise in Orlando.
Another reason for the success is head coach Jamahl Mosley’s ability to combine all these young players while also getting them to buy into the defensive end of the floor.
Mosley recently opened up about Banchero on “The Jim Rome Show” and how he believes the emerging star has valuable intangibles.
“He’s just a winner,” Mosley said.

With the Magic adding veteran two-way player Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to the mix this summer through NBA free agency, Mosley’s squad could take another step toward being a true contender in the East next season.
The Magic will be a team to watch moving forward and could become a legitimate force to be reckoned with from here on out, with Banchero leading the way.
