After a solid start to their second-round playoff series against the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Lakers were brought back to earth in Game 2 with a humbling loss on the road in San Francisco.
Although the consensus was the Warriors would win this game and head to Los Angeles with the series tied at one game apiece, it’s safe to say few thought the Lakers would get blowout the way they did in Game 2.
The Lakers had a few moments in Game 2 where it looked like they could get back on track, but Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson proved too much to handle as the two sharpshooters tortured Darvin Ham’s squad all night.
In the aftermath of a disappointing performance in Game 2, Lakers legend Magic Johnson took to Twitter to share his thoughts, as he always tends to do whether his old team wins or loses in the postseason.
In Game 3 the Lakers have to make some major changes and adjust to how the Warriors are now playing them.

Superstar forward Anthony Davis took the bulk of the blame for the Lakers’ shortcomings in Game 2, as he looked like a completely different player compared to Game 1, where he dominated the Warriors from start to finish.
Davis scored only 11 points in Game 2 and was a nonfactor, leading to Golden State taking control of the game and looking forward to Game 3 in Los Angeles at Crypto.com Arena.
It seems as though this series will be won and lost depending on the performance of Davis, as he’s played such a pivotal role in the first two games.
If Davis can get back to form, the Lakers can retake control of this series, but if not, the Warriors may take a commanding lead that they may not look back from.
