JJ Redick will have his work cut out for him during his first season as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.
It may take him some time to adjust to the new job and feel comfortable.
Lakers legend Magic Johnson told Jim Hill, per Sports Central LA, that fans need to be patient with Redick and give him time.
Unfortunately for Redick, time is one luxury the Lakers don’t have.

Everyone knows that there is a clock ticking down over the Lakers.
As LeBron James gets older, he inches closer and closer to retirement and the Lakers have to formulate a plan for a post-James future.
He should be able to play for two more years at the least and the Lakers want to make the most out of that time.
Johnson is right to urge patience from the fans because most new head coaches need time before they are fully in the zone and functioning to the best of their abilities.
But Lakers fans will be very nervous if the season begins and the team starts to lose.
If they don’t see a strong track record right away, they will panic and think that Redick was a bad choice for such an important job.
He may surprise everyone and the Lakers could go on a winning streak at the start of the season, but there is a good chance it doesn’t happen that way.
Just how patient will everyone be if the Lakers hit a rough patch?
