It’s been a while since we last heard anything about the potential sale of the Washington Commanders.
Controversial business mogul Dan Snyder is reportedly considering multiple bids to finally let go of the team after years of fans urging him to sell.
And now, it seems like another popular figure has joined the race to try and snatch the NFL franchise away from his fingers, with NBA legend Magic Johnson confirming that he submitted a bid to buy the team.

Johnson has been involved with sports franchises for years now, and he also tried to buy the Denver Broncos.
He was a part-owner of the Los Angeles Lakers before joining a group of investors to buy the Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB) and Los Angeles Sparks (WNBA).
He’s also a part-owner of the Los Angeles FC of Major League Soccer, and every single one of his teams has won at least one championship since he took over, so fans should be praying for him to get his hands around the Commanders as well.
Of course, leading an ever-struggling franchise to the top would be an uphill battle, even for someone with a proven track record like Magic Johnson.
The franchise needs to go through a major culture overhaul, and we’re talking about the workplace environment, team facilities, and even the stadium.
But then again, the most important culture shift needs to happen on the gridiron, which will be easier said than done until the team finally lands a franchise-caliber quarterback to build the rest of the roster around.
