All eyes have been on the Los Angeles Lakers over the past several weeks.

With the growing reports about LeBron and Bronny James and the team’s coaching situation, this team seems to capture a lot of media attention.

The Lakers have been in search of a new coach since they parted ways with Darvin Ham.

While a few names have been thrown out as a potential replacement, Dan Hurley has emerged as the latest top candidate to take on this role.

Hurley has had a lot of success at UConn during his tenure, but it appears he’s looking to take a step up and join the NBA ranks.

After hearing the news of Hurley potentially taking this job, Magic Johnson took to Twitter to express his feelings about the situation.

“I’m so excited and thrilled! This would be a game changer for the Lakers situation, LeBron, AD, the rest of the Laker players, Laker Nation and the NBA,” Johnson said.

Johnson appears to be in full support of Hurley taking over an organization that he still has a lot of ties to.

Without Johnson’s on-court talents, the Lakers might not have the same credibility they do now.

He helped continue the legacy of making them a winning organization and hopes that hiring a coach like Hurley can get them back to that place.

The past few years haven’t exactly gone how the Lakers might have hoped they would, but with a new coach and system in place, they could find themselves in a favorable position moving forward.
