Kobe Bryant will forever be an NBA legend and one of the most beloved Los Angeles Lakers figures ever.
To many, he will also always be the greatest player of all time.
In a new interview, per NBACentral, Magic Johnson said that Bryant definitely needs to be part of the conversation about the best NBA player ever.
“We know Kobe belongs in that conversation even today. Kareem, Kobe and they all wore the purple and gold,” Johnson said.
He went on:
“So I think about what Kobe meant to the game of basketball worldwide, and to me offensively he’s the second-best dude in terms of at that shooting guard, small forward positions behind Michael Jordan. When you think about scoring-wise nobody could stop Kobe just like nobody could stop Michael Jordan.”
Magic Johnson, when responding to a question, agreed that Kobe Bryant would have been in the GOAT discussion if he were alive:

Being placed second only behind Michael Jodan is a huge honor and it shows just how much Johnson admired Bryant and his abilities.
Bryant has been compared to multiple NBA icons many times, including Jordan.
They had a similar style of playing and both led their teams for years.
They did so through their on-court production and also their demanding personalities that required everyone, including themselves, to play as hard as possible.
Johnson might be slightly partial considering he is such a devoted Lakers fan but there are plenty of people who don’t love Los Angeles and also feel this way.
Bryant’s impact on the league is unquestionable and he will always be a part of this conversation.
Lakers fans, and all basketball followers, know just how important he is to NBA history.
