After a very disappointing 2023 NFL season in which the New York Giants were unable to capitalize on a breakout year in 2022 under head coach Brian Daboll, the pressure will be on the storied NFL franchise to show results in 2024, or there could be some drastic changes on the horizon.
Although Daboll looked like the perfect coach for this team in 2022, the team regressed so much in 2023 that he could very well be on the hot seat during the upcoming regular season, as the Giants seem to be heading in the wrong direction, especially after losing superstar running back Saquon Barkley in NFL free agency to the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles.
One player who is expected to make an immediate impact for the Giants and potentially a pivotal piece to getting this team back on track offensively is rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers, who the team selected with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Unfortunately for New York, Nabers recently suffered an ankle injury, which can be tough to recover from quickly, depending on the severity of the injury.
Even though his timetable to return to the football field is up in the air, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Nabers has assured the team and its fans that he’ll be back and ready for Week 1.
“No doubt,” Nabers said about his Week 1 status.
Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers believes there is “no doubt” that he will be ready for Week 1 after injuring his ankle over the weekend.

If the Giants start the season without Nabers on the field when they host the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1 on September 8, it’ll be a disappointing beginning to the 2024 campaign.
Nabers was the second wide receiver taken in the draft this year after the Arizona Cardinals selected Marvin Harrison Jr. at No. 4 overall.
