For years, Kyrie Irving developed a reputation for being one of the biggest troublemakers in the NBA.
He burned bridges everywhere he went, at least with organizations and front offices, and he left them little to show for all the trouble.
It all started when he fled Cleveland after being traded to the Boston Celtics.
There, he failed to lead his team to success.
Needless to say, that made it seem as if he didn’t get along with the players.
However, ever since he left the Celtics, those players have had nothing but good things to say about him.
That was evident again in an interview with Marcus Smart for Tidal League’s Run Your Race (via ClutchPoints).
“He’s [Kyrie Irving] not going to back down from anybody on and off the court.”

Talking about Kyrie, he admitted that they didn’t see eye to eye at first, so he had to reach out to him and let him know that they had to push each other to the edge in practice to make each other better.
Smart claimed that Irving was the kind of person who would never back down from anybody on and off the court, adding that he was actually a great teammate.
At the end of the day, he’s entitled to have his beliefs and whatnot, but he’s an outstanding basketball player.
The game is always better with a guy like him on the court, which is why teams still take a chance on him despite his well-documented history.
