Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has seen many of his peers at his position land huge paydays this offseason while he is left playing on an expiring contract as his front office appears hesitant to commit big money to him long-term after another early playoff exit.
Player-turned-analyst Marcus Spears said he believes that one way or another, Prescott will get his money, even if he has to leave Dallas to do it.
Spears appeared on ESPN’s “Get Up” recently and said Prescott would be “the shining star of free agency for a number of teams” if Dallas lets him hit the market and that the Las Vegas Raiders would happily pay him $60 million a year.

Spears also mentioned the Pittsburgh Steelers as a team that would likely be interested if Russell Wilson and Justin Fields don’t work out as they hoped.
Prescott is coming off one of his best regular seasons after throwing 36 touchdown passes with just nine interceptions, but the playoff blowout loss to the Green Bay Packers is the only thing fans remember from last season.
Other quarterbacks landing huge deals just magnifies the situation in Dallas, as one by one Prescott has had to watch his peers land $200 million or larger deals, some of whom are likely beneath him on the QB hierarchy.
It doesn’t appear that a contract will get done anytime soon, with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones recently mentioning how expensive it would be to extend the trio of Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons.
It’s shaping up to be a make-or-break year for Prescott in Dallas, in more ways than one.
