Tuesday night marked the annual MLB All-Star Game, with the best of the best from the National League and American League squaring off.

This year’s Midsummer Classic took place at T-Mobile Park, home of the Seattle Mariners.

To nobody’s surprise, Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels was in the starting lineup for the American Leaguers.

Ohtani is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, and while it’s unlikely he’ll be traded at the deadline, fans of every team are hoping to land him and his two-way abilities.

Mariners fans are no different, and when he stepped to the batter’s box for his first at-bat, the crowd made a big pitch to the two-way star, chanting: “Come to Seattle.”

On Twitter, MLB writer Patrick Lyons posted a video featuring Mariners fans as they serenaded Ohtani.

That’s certainly one way to recruit a star player.

Fans of every team are hoping that Ohtani joins them this offseason.

Barring a contract extension, Ohtani will be leading this year’s class of free agent stars.

Seattle may find themselves immersed in the sweepstakes for the two-way superstar.

Fans are certainly hoping so.

Ohtani would give the Mariners another ace to go with Luis Castillo, Logan Gilbert, and George Kirby, as well as another power bat to go with Julio Rodriguez.

Mariners fans understand that and are hoping that the front office sees a potential opportunity to bring the two-way phenom aboard.

The fans certainly did a good job of trying to recruit him last night.
