Over the years, Kyrie Irving of the Dallas Mavericks has earned a lot of controversy for his actions and the things he has said.
He certainly has quite a reputation and has repeatedly gotten into hot water.
But Mavericks co-owner Mark Cuban thinks that Irving is a great guy who doesn’t deserve the bad press he gets.
Speaking with Draymond Green, via The Volume, Cuban said that Irving is a great guy who “cares too much” and is loved by many.
“There’s certain people, when you hug them, you feel who they are. That’s Kyrie Irving,” Cuban said, and Green agreed.

Whether it be his stance about the COVID-19 vaccine, his comments on social media, or the things he has openly said to the press, Irving has ruffled many feathers during his years in the league.
But Cuban said that most of that is because of the media and the way they portray Irving.
Anyone who actually knows the eight-time All-Star is wild about him and feels that he has a huge heart and is a caring, loving individual.
Some fans might be surprised to hear Cuban speak this way about Irving because it wasn’t entirely clear what his time in Dallas was going to be like.
When he first signed up with the Mavericks, some people thought he wouldn’t fit in well alongside Luka Doncic and many assumed he’d only be there for a few months before demanding another trade to a different team.
But Irving has been sensational this year, scoring 25.3 points, 5 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game.
He has a great chemistry with Doncic now and, according to Cuban, is well-regarded by the entire Mavericks organization.
Does that mean that Irving could be in Dallas for years to come?
