The New York Knicks are here, and they’re not going anywhere.
True to their identity and Tom Thibodeau’s style, they put up a big fight until the very end of the regular season, going toe-to-toe with the Chicago Bulls in overtime to secure the No. 2 seed.
They’re no longer overachieving, and they should be considered a legitimate threat to come out of the Eastern Conference, even without Julius Randle.
That’s why former Knicks player and NBA coach Mark Jackson claimed there’s no room for excuses anymore (via New York Basketball).

In the latest edition of his ‘Come and Talk 2 Me’ podcast, the former coach claimed that the Knicks have to get the job done.
They’ve been one of the best teams in the East for most of the season, and Jalen Brunson is playing like a legitimate superstar.
He praised him for being a silent assassin, the kind of player who doesn’t want to be anybody’s friend and will only handle business on a nightly basis.
Jackson also lauded his ability to put his team on his shoulders as a scorer and a passer, adding that they’re also a well-coached team under coach Thibodeau.
The Knicks have been one of the toughest squads in the game.
What they lack in talent, they make up for with chemistry and hustle on both ends of the floor.
Of course, there will always be injury concerns with any Thibodeau team and their bodies might not be able to hold up until the end of the playoffs, let alone next year.
Still, the table is set for a return to the biggest stage.
