The Chicago Bears will look significantly better next season.

When talking about their rookies, everybody raves about Caleb Williams, and rightly so.

Nonetheless, he’s not the only top-ten selection they will have out there doing his thing.

Washington star WR Rome Odunze is also expected to have a big impact on the passing game, but that’s not all.

In a recent sit-down with Kay Adams for her Up & Adams Show, the Bears head coach also admitted that Odunze could be a factor on special teams as well.

Rome Odunze… Bears primary punt returner?!?!

Per Eberflus, the rookie wide receiver has been ‘very good’ at returning punts despite not having any experience in college doing so, so it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see him embracing that role when it counts next season as well.

Odunze was the third wide receiver taken in this year’s stacked class, but he could hold his own against the best of them as well.

He’s strong, fast, and very physical, and his ability to overpower his defender will give him a big edge at the next level.

The Bears clearly hope he and Williams will become one of the best QB-WR duos in the league for years to come, and a breakout rookie season could even allow them to let veteran WR Keenan Allen walk next season.

Teams are often wary about putting their star WRs in harm’s way by playing them on special teams.

Still, if they feel like Odunze can give them an edge and he’s up to the challenge, so be it.
