The Chicago Bears have several massive decisions to make in the weeks leading up to the NFL Draft.

The Bears hold the No. 1 overall pick, and after trading away Justin Fields, it is all but guaranteed that they’ll draft a quarterback with that selection.

Many expect the Bears to take Caleb Williams at No.1, as he has been the most highly touted quarterback in this class for the past several years.

Their decision might be relatively easy to make with their first pick, but the Bears will be back on the clock at No. 9, tasked with another tough choice.

Head coach Matt Eberflus was recently asked about the Bears’ plans for this pick, which he outlined in a conversation shared by Around The NFL.

“We’re going to get a blue player there, for sure,” Eberflus said.

Eberflus’s statement that the Bears are going to take a “blue” player doesn’t necessarily indicate his position on who the team will draft.

Most players taken in the top 10 are considered blue-chip players, so it’s not surprising that Eberflus feels this way about the players the team is looking at with pick nine.

The Bears have a few other holes to fill around their team, so it will be interesting to see what direction they will go with their second pick of the first round.

Some have suggested that the team take a wide receiver to help Williams develop as a passer, while others have suggested offensive linemen to help protect the rookie QB in his first season.

Regardless of what the Bears are planning, everything can change on draft night, which is a big reason that fans tune in each year to find out what happens.
