The Kansas City Chiefs are on a quest to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls, and the path through the AFC firmly goes through them at this point as during the Patrick Mahomes era, they have made the Super Bowl in four of his six years as a starter with the only two losses being in the AFC Championship game.
Former Atlanta Falcons quarterback and future Hall-of-Famer Matt Ryan recently named one team that can disrupt this reign of terror the Chiefs have been on in the AFC.
When speaking with Kay Adams of Up & Adams, Ryan shouted out the Houston Texans as the team best positioned to compete with them right now, noting how you’re never going to completely shut them down so you have to outscore the Chiefs to beat them, and with C.J. Stroud under center leading an explosive offense coming off a surprising AFC South crown and a playoff victory in his rookie season, they are positioned to be a thorn in KC’s side for years.

Houston acquired Stefon Diggs from the Buffalo Bills this offseason to form an electric receiving unit alongside Tank Dell and Nico Collins while also bringing in Joe Mixon to take over at running back.
Houston’s defense should be solid once again as well with elite young talent at each level, and it would be fun to see a playoff battle between these two franchises.
Stroud and Mahomes will face off for the first time in Kansas City on Saturday, December 21st in Week 16.
