New England Patriots fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

Pro Bowl edge-rusher Matthew Judon has returned to practice after his contract holdout and is ready to roll.

However, according to insider Dov Kleiman, Judon will be playing this season on his current contract.

“I gotta play. This ain’t nothing about practice. I gotta do what I’m contracted and obligated to do so I don’t lose my money,” Judon said in front of the New England media recently.

At 31 years of age and after playing in just four games last season due to a major biceps injury, the four-time Pro Bowl edge-rusher was possibly looking for more money and security from the organization this offseason.

Now, it appears as though he may not be getting that and has realized that he needs to get back to the field so that he doesn’t lose out on any more of his money.

Of course, he could still be speaking with the organization as the season approaches but given what has happened over the last year with him and given his age, the Pats might not want to fork over more money to a player that may be on the decline.

However, the former Raven could change the narrative with a big season off the edge.

Before last season, he recorded a total of 27.5 sacks across 2021 and 2022.

This is a player who was one of the best in the league when he came over to the Patriots.

Now, if he wants to earn more money, he seemingly has to put together a bounce-back season in his first year under new head coach Jerod Mayo.
