For the past three years, Matthew Judon was arguably the best player for the New England Patriots.

Unfortunately, an injury kept him off the field for most of his last season with the organization, and he’s now a part of the Atlanta Falcons.

Judon and the Patriots couldn’t agree on terms of a new contract, and given his evident discomfort and the Falcons’ desire to give up a valuable draft pick to get him, the Patriots had no choice but to move on from him.

With that in mind, the former Baltimore Ravens star made sure to let Patriots fans know just how much he loved them (Via CBS Sports Boston & Carlos Talks Pats).

Matthew Judon’s final message to #Patriots fans:

“… I appreciate y’all for all the memories and everything y’all did for me. It’s not the way that we wanted and I’m sorry that my last play was a injury… as far as being fans and family, we’ll always be that. I’ll always be a… pic.twitter.com/tiS5kURpOz

Judon stated that he would always be a fan of New England and Massachusetts and hoped the team and the fans find success, hoping that they feel the same way about him.

He also claimed that he would definitely be back in Foxboro at some point.

Judon revealed that he couldn’t get the Patriots’ brass to sit in a room and discuss a new contract face-to-face.

He stated that he felt a clear disconnect between him and the organization, which is perhaps what eventually led to his desire to leave the premises.

A tough outside linebacker with a great nose for the ball, Judon gives the Falcons another experienced and physical player for their defense.

And with no deal in sight yet, he might have to play this season on the final year of his contract, thus being more than enough motivation to be at his best.
