Matthew Stafford found himself in the public hot seat during the offseason.
Many fans and pundits criticized his wife’s comments about not connecting with some of his younger teammates.
It appeared that Stafford hadn’t put in enough effort to connect with some of the Los Angeles Rams‘ newest additions, leading to controversy.
In another attempt to clear the air, Stafford discussed this situation with reporters, which was shared via Pro Football Talk.
“I love working with these guys and they all know that,” Stafford said, also mentioning he “definitely” connects with his teammates.

Throughout his career, Stafford has generally been held in high regard.
He was a beloved member of the Detroit Lions, and early signs in LA led fans to believe the same.
Stafford appears ready to put these comments behind him, highlighting his current relationships with his teammates.
Plus, with the recent news that Cooper Kupp could begin the season on the IR, Stafford might have to start having breakfast with somebody else.
Kupp has been Stafford’s favorite target in the Rams offense, which has seemingly correlated with their off-field chemistry.
If Kupp misses significant time, it will be a setback for a Rams team that was looking to bounce back after a down year in 2022.
Stafford could turn to Van Jefferson to absorb some of Kupp’s targets, and recent reports have highlighted rookie Puka Nacua as someone to watch for.
The Rams take on the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1, and fans will soon see who he’ll favorite in this new-look offense.
