Mavericks Are Interested In Nuggets Free Agent

The 2023-2024 NBA Season went a lot better for the Dallas Mavericks than many expected coming into the year.

Yes, the Mavericks had Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving on the roster, but it was unknown what this duo would be able to accomplish in another year together.

While they might have had some rocky moments during the regular season, the Mavericks proved that they should be respected as a contender in the Western Conference, making it to the NBA Finals.

They beat some great teams en route to the Finals but fell short against the Boston Celtics.

It could be easy for them to be upset about this Finals loss, and take some time to forget about basketball for a while, but it appears that the Mavericks are going full steam ahead when looking at the upcoming season.

They have reportedly been active in the trade market, hoping to find another player or two who can help them win a championship.

According to a recent report from Marc Stein via NBA Central, the Mavericks have expressed interest in Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, “but the Denver Nuggets may be unwilling to facilitate a sign-and-trade.”

The Nuggets are also looking to make it back to the Finals after falling to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the playoffs.

If they view Caldwell-Pope as a necessary cog to their team’s success, they might not be so interested in dealing him to a potential contender.

Assuming they are unable to land Caldwell-Pope, it will be interesting to see who the Mavericks end up adding to their roster before the season starts.
