The Dallas Mavericks came into the NBA Finals after being the underdog in three consecutive rounds in the NBA playoffs and prevailing, with the team taking down the Los Angeles Clippers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Minnesota Timberwolves before taking on the Boston Celtics for a chance to win an NBA title.
Although the Mavericks have embraced the underdog label against some of the best teams in the Western Conference and have taken it to another level during the postseason, the Celtics are another beast entirely, as Boston has not even gotten consistent play out of arguably their best player, Jayson Tatum, and are still winning convincingly.
The Celtics will head into Game 3 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas sporting a 2-0 series lead and a chance to crush the spirit of Jason Kidd’s squad with a third consecutive win.
However, superstar Luka Doncic isn’t giving up anytime soon, and he doesn’t want his team to get discouraged after shooting poorly in the first two games, as he had this quote urging his teammates to keep shooting, via the team’s Twitter account.
“We all believe in those shots,” Doncic said. “That’s how we came to the Finals, and that’s how we played the whole season. We believe in our guys. Everybody believes, so if you’re open, just keep shooting. We have confidence that everyone can make a shot on our team so we just got to keep believing it.”

If Doncic’s teammates do start hitting shots consistently, this best-of-seven series will completely change, even though the Celtics have proven to be an excellent defensive team.
Dallas has a chance to get back into this series, and it starts with a solid performance in Game 3 on Wednesday night.
