Once again, the Las Vegas Raiders have been in the midst of a chaotic season.
Mark Davis’ decision to fire HC Josh McDaniels mid-season has been a breath of fresh air for the players, and the energy has been so different under Antonio Pierce.
They’ve now won back-to-back games for the first time this season, and it seems like the players are so much invested right now.
Following their win over the New York Jets, star DE Maxx Crosby revealed that coach Pierce told them that this was a new era and the start of a new season, adding that the players have responded in a big way to that energy (via Sunday Night Football on NBC).

The Raiders’ offense continues to be average at best, but the defense has really turned the corner in the past couple of weeks.
Granted that the New York Giants and New York Jets aren’t who you want your defense to be measured against in the sense that they’re bottom-feeding offenses, but the early returns have been encouraging nonetheless.
The Raiders will now have to step up when they face the Miami Dolphins’ explosive offense fresh off a loss and a Bye week, and that’s obviously going to be a major challenge.
Making the playoffs isn’t out of the question yet, but they need to be almost flawless for the remainder of the season to even consider that possibility.
Still, it seems like they’re finally right on track and could build something special.
