Mel Kiper Jr. has been an analyst for the NFL Draft since 1984, providing insight into the pre-draft process.
Each year, Kiper puts together several mock drafts, submitting his predictions ahead of the draft.
Kiper is well-connected within the league and is frequently seen as one of the premier analysts in the industry.
In his recent mock, Kiper revealed that he has chosen Bryce Young as the first overall pick, which he discussed on a recent episode of “Get Up”.

Young and C.J. Stroud have been identified as the top-two quarterbacks in this year’s draft.
While many analysts believe that the Carolina Panthers will be using the first pick on Stroud, Kiper believes that they are going with Young.
Young won the Heisman Trophy during the 2021 season, but, due to a weaker supporting cast during the 2022 season, his numbers were diminished.
As Kiper later points out, Young was dealing with injury concerns during his final year at Alabama, which also slowed down his overall production.
While Kiper demonstrated overall positivity towards Young, others within the industry have shown their initial concerns.
At the combine, Young measured in at 5-foot-10, and will be one of the shortest quarterbacks ever drafted in NFL history.
Whether his size is a detriment to Young’s NFL success remains to be seen.
For now, the Panthers have just a few weeks to determine which quarterback will be the best fit to lead their organization.
