Micah Parsons has only played in the NFL for two seasons but has established himself as one of the league’s top defenders.
He’s been a welcomed addition to the Dallas Cowboys defense, winning the Defensive Rookie of the Year award, and is a two-time All-Pro.
Ahead of the 2023 NFL Season, it appears that Parsons wants to play at a heavier weight.
According to his recent comments from the Fort Worth-Star Telegram via the NFL’s website, Parsons would like to get to 255 pounds.

As this article indicates, Parsons currently weighs around 248 pounds, so he’s looking to gain nearly 10 pounds.
His rationale for this comes from an animalistic approach, which he describes in detail.
“If you go to a safari, you see buses pull up on lions, and the lion never flinches,” Parsons said.
He also said, “They’re king, they’re not going to flinch.”
Parsons believes that he’s a king in the NFL and that his defensive prowess is second to none.
This lion analogy indicates that he’s not planning on slowing down anytime soon.
If he’s able to put on weight while being able to run around with similar efficiency as last year, he could be a nightmare for opposing teams.
Parsons isn’t just gaining weight for fun, either.
He wants to make sure and do this the right way, as he said, “I’m trying to stay as healthy as possible.”
Can Parsons’ dominance and weight gain help the Cowboys make a deep playoff push this season, something the organization has lacked for the past several years?
